- Mineral Ridge is located just east of
Coeur D' Alene across the Wolf Lodge Bay of Lake Coeur D' Alene. Becky,
Taylor, and myself thought that hiking would be a good way to spend our Sunday
afternoon. Guess who suggested it? This trail is heavily used
and very well maintained with
resting benches at several locations. The trailhead is situated in Beauty
Bay and has lots of parking.
- The trail slowly switchbacks up to a
lookout vista called Caribou Cabin. From here, you hike the ridge catching
glimpses of the lake and interstate across the bay. After you reach the
Silvertip Viewpoint at the end end of the ridge, the trail drops sharply back down to the parking
area. This was an excellent family hike that is neither difficult nor
long.
