- Trout Creek is located
approximately 15 miles east of Sandpoint (ID) on Highway 200. The
trailhead is 7.8 miles up Trout Creek Road on the right. I don't
have a whole lot to say about this particular hike. It didn't have
much to offer in terms of views or scenery.
- Part of the negotiations to get
the Seven Devils hike approved was no hiking the weekend prior to or
after the that hike. It took a little convincing, but since it was
a relatively short hike close to Sandpoint (ID), I got to go.
- It was a fairly steep hike
following a creek up the draw. It had several switchbacks until
the last quarter mile where it seemed to take off straight up the side
of the mountain. There were several trees down across the path
which led me to believe that it doesn't get a whole lot of use. I
saw three more moose on the way to the trailhead in the Pack River
Flats, a cow and two calves.
