- Description:
- The Bauman's decided to fly up
from Boise to visit us again. Although there was still a lot of
snow in the mountain, I found this short hike to take in with
Chuck. We decided to head up to Priest Lake because Chuck had
never been there before and the trailhead was right off of Highway 57
approximately one and a half miles south of Nordman.
- It was probably a good thing
that we didn't try to hike too many miles since the Bauman's were
recovering from their celebration of Cinco de Mayo the previous
night. Chuck and Kathy really tied one on at Jalapenos with the
$2.00 lime margaritas and tequila shots. Anyway, I think it would
be safe to say that a good time was had by all.
- It was an ok hike, but I don't
think I would recommend it unless you are short of time or want to
snowshoe. The view from the top was guarded by trees so it is very
difficult to even get a glimpse of Priest Lake. The view from
Lookout Mountain on the east side of the lake is much better.
- When we returned to the vehicle,
we proceeded to head into one of many campgrounds around the lake and
took a few pictures before heading back to Sandpoint.

- Photographs:
- I took four photos and this first one of Chuck with
Priest Lake in the background is the only one that turned out due to
a bit of weather that moved in on us.
